At Jim and Jude’s Cabins, we believe vacations should be about relaxation, simplicity, and connection with loved ones, and with the special moments that become lifelong memories.
Tucked away on the shores of McDonald Lake in Gulliver, Michigan, our cozy two-bedroom cabins offer the perfect balance of comfort and simplicity. Whether you’re visiting for a fishing trip, a quiet family getaway, or a week of exploring Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, our cabins are designed to make you feel right at home.
Our Story
Jim and Judy Sibbald had a simple dream: To create a welcoming retreat where families, couples, and outdoor enthusiasts could escape the hustle of everyday life. For years, Jim and Jude’s Cabins have been hosting travelers from near and far, and our greatest joy comes from seeing guests return year after year, often bringing new friends and family with them.
We’re proud to be the only resort on McDonald Lake, which means when you stay with us, you’ll enjoy a private and serene experience. From summer nights around the campfire to early mornings on the water, our cabins have been the backdrop for countless fishing trips, family reunions, and unforgettable adventures for over 40 years.
Comfortable Cabins, Affordable Rates
We know that when you’re planning a getaway, comfort matters. That’s why each of our three two-bedroom cabins are equipped with the essentials you need:
Cozy living room with DirectTV for rainy days
Modern kitchens fully stocked with cookware and utensils
Updated bathrooms with showers
Gas heating for cold nights
Comfortable bedding included (just bring towels and paper goods!)
Each Cabin can be occupied by up to five guests, with the option to add extra occupants for a small fee. We also welcome pets (for a small additional cleaning fee) so no family member has to be left behind.
Lakefront Enjoyment
Our location is what truly makes Jim and Jude’s Cabins special. McDonald Lake is a 1,600-acre hidden treasure known for its excellent fishing, swimming, and boating. Every stay includes a 14-foot aluminum boat so you can spend your days out on the water at no additional cost. For anglers we also provide a fish cleaning station.
If you prefer to stay on shore, there are many options. Lounge by the lake, roast marshmallows at our private fire pit, or simply enjoy the quiet beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula if you choose.
